West Standard Design Build has been commissioned to design and build a single-family residence in the Washington Park neighborhood of Central Denver. The Mid-Century Modern inspired home was initially conceived as a single-story with a full basement. However, the geotechnical study revealed a high water table, thus eliminating the possibility of economically constructing a basement. As a solution we raised the home about 2′ above grade. We were then able to take advantage of the rearward sloping lot, and add a 1000sf walk-out piece to the aft of the home. The result is that we were able to maintain the intended single-story aesthetic while gaining the necessary square-footage required by our clients. Here are some early renderings of the project.

Urban Infill Project Denver, Colorado

West Standard Design Build has been engaged to provide a development plan for an urban infill project in the Clayton neighborhood of North Denver. The underutilized 34,000sf parcel, is owned by a local church. The goal of the project is to: improve the neighborhood through the introduction of high-quality affordable housing, provide additional administrative space for the church, provide temporary housing for visiting church officials, and to provide liquidity for church improvement and expansion. These renderings show our initial conceptual development plan for the site.
